Class Details:

This is a two-part class with both classes on the same day. Both sections of the class will automatically be placed in your cart when you select one of the sessions.

The use of long draw techniques has such great benefits for the handspinner. Those lofty, warm, and airy yarns can be produced by use of a long draw method. For many handspinners, long draw methods are quite a mystery and can be frustrating. So let’s remove the obstacles.

Learn how to properly set up your spinning wheel to ease your way into supported and unsupported long draw, how to choose the best prep for practicing and achieving the results you want, and how this can be used for other spinning equipment outside of the spinning wheel.

In this two-part session, Heavenly will share a practical, methodical approach to demonstrate techniques on a spinning wheel, charkha, and supported spindle including how to make rolags on handcards.

Homework:

None

Supplies for Class:

A spinning wheel in working order. Clean, prepared fiber to practice techniques—roving, rolags, and/or punis. A tape measure, notepad, pen or pencil. Optional: handcards, other equipment to practice long draw methods on. Espinners are welcome.
