Charis Bennett Walker is a shepherd, farmer, and fiber enthusiast living in Appalachian Ohio. She, her husband, and young daughter operate Tarheelbilly Farm, where she raises Tunis sheep, dairy goats, cattle, and too many chickens. A lifelong educator, she is passionate about issues surrounding sustainable small-scale fiber production, wool from heritage breeds of sheep, and the preservation of rare breeds of livestock.
