Class Details:
In this class you’ll learn two easy toe-up cast on methods to get started, and see how to then create a shape custom fit to your toes. You’ll also learn how to create a classic and well-fitting heel. Tackling these two key areas of your socks, allows you to shape your socks with the best fit possible! I’ll teach you some of my favorite techniques, and then we’ll practice in a hands-on, workshop style so you can learn as you go in a relaxed atmosphere. We’ll use worsted-weight yarn to practice casting on, creating a standard toe, creating a custom-fit toe, knitting a standard heel, creating a custom-fit heel; then, as time allows, we’ll repeat and refine any steps where you need more practice.
Homework:
Each student should bring a 3" x 3" stockinette swatch, knit flat in a worsted-weight yarn using needles appropriate to get a gauge of 5-7 stitches per inch. Bring a notebook or sketchbook, your swatch, at least 50g yarn, and your needles, to class. A light colored yarn with little to no variegation is recommended.
Supplies for Class:
