Teacher Bio

Heavenly is an award-winning handspinner and the owner and founder of Heavenly Knitchet. Recognized through the TKGA as a Level One Master Knitter and currently enrolled in Level Two, she designs custom knit and crochet accessories for clients all over the world. She has an extreme passion and zeal for expressing creativity through fiber arts not only as a spinner but as a knitter, crocheter, weaver, and indie dyer. Heavenly has become well-known for her attention to detail and expert finishing.

Her love for knitting and crocheting became a gateway for her to try her hand at spinning in December 2015. Little did she know repairing antique spinning wheels would be a crucial part of the start of her journey. Heavenly’s spinning wheel herd has quickly grown from two to 15, and unique wheels are often the subject of her studies. Hand-processing fleece and fibers and transforming them into finished products is one her favorite things to do. She has taught classes at her local spinning guild in Illinois and also at fiber festivals. Some of her past class topics include spinning for color control, processing alpaca fibers for handspinning, polymer clay for fiber artists, and advanced techniques for fiber preparation.

Heavenly can be found doing demos at local farms, recording live videos on social media, and crafting at local yarn shops. Encouraging spinners, knitters, and crocheters near and far to experience the fiber craft together and try new things is part of her mission. When she isn’t teaching and playing in fibers, she enjoys quality time with her husband and her two young sons, Noble and Ezekiel, and her Morkie, Samson.
