Join us for a NEW fiber filled tour as Laura, Karyn and I share North Light Fibers Dye Studio, Yarn Studio, fashions and kettle dyeing/milling techniques that have made Water Street and now Seaside so magical. First we will take a video tour of our dye studio as we kettle dye two new colors and talk about creating new colors through blending. Then we will tour our fiber studio where we card, spin, ply and finish the yarn - personally taking it from raw fiber to a finished skein. If you have never seen yarn made, this is a must see. We will then spend a bit talking about kettle dyeing and making unique colors in the yarn studio by blending dyed and natural colored fibers. And we will go into depth on how we create the heathery Water Street colors and the marled Seaside colors. We will then have a funtastical fashion show of designs in North Light Fibers yarns by world renowned designers such as Melanie Berg, Olga Jazzy, Deborah Newton, Bristol Ivy, Fiona Ellis, Andrea Mowry, Theresa Chynoweth, and so many more. This will be fun…social distancing and all. During the event, we will talk about Block Island, 100% made in the US yarns, our retreats, our yarns and what handcrafted artisanal means to us.
