Students will be introduced to intarsia for garter stitch, edge shaping techniques for garter stitch, joining of garter stitch pieces via seaming (with mattress stitch) and how to make the embellishments (eyes, nose and mouth). The class is project-based. During class students will complete a cat face and the embellishments for the first cat. The class includes a detailed handout with links to technique videos.

This class is based on the More Than a Feline blanket pattern. For this class you will receive the pattern for this pillow; to find the blanket, students may purchase the teacher’s book, Safe at Home, which includes the blanket pattern, plus a pattern for a larger pillow with 5 cats.

This class teaches all the techniques needed to complete the pillow (in the handout), or the larger pillow or blanket (from the book).
