Class Details:

Learn to take brioche stitch every which way in this fun class where we explore the many twists and turns of brioche cables. Cabling in brioche can be simple or complex, and we'll explore it all— from learning how to create simple brioche traveling stitches to the secrets of reversible cables and what makes special one-sided brioche cables.

Technique Requirements: knit/purl, cast on/bind off, increase/decrease, Participants in this class should already be comfortable working flat two-color brioche.

Homework:

Work at least two inches of a 30-stitch flat brioche rib two-color swatch as follows:
1. Cast on 30 sts in your preferred cast-on method
2. On RS row, join second color and (k1, sl1yo) to end. Slide, do not turn.
3. With color 1, (sl1yo, brp) to end. Turn.
4. On WS, with color 2 (sl1yo, brp) to end. Slide, do not turn.
5. With color 1, (brk, sl1yo) to end. Turn.
6. With color 2, (brk1, sl1yo) to end. Slide, do not turn
7. With color 1, (sl1yo, brp) to end. Turn.
8. On WS, with color 2 (sl1yo, brp) to end. Slide, do not turn.
9. With color 1, (brk, sl1yo) to end. Turn.
10. Repeat steps 6-9 until swatch measures at least two inches.

Supplies for Class:

At least 30 yards of each of two colors of smooth, worsted-weight yarn, needles you usually use with worsted weight yarn or one size smaller (US#6-8) for knitting flat, two cable needles or two spare dpns.
