Class Details:

Learn how to knit intarsia in the round and make a pair of socks with a colorful diamond pattern. Plus, learn tips for keeping your yarns organized, maintaining your tension, calculating yarn needs, and more. If you don’t like seaming but want to use the intarsia technique, you will enjoy this class.

Technique Requirements: knit/purl, cast on/bind off, increase/decrease, working in the round, chart reading, easy colorwork, basic finishing techniques, short rows

Homework:

With a CC and your preferred gauge-size needles and cast-on method, loosely cast on 48 stitches. Join to work in the round, being careful not to twist. Place marker to indicate the start of the round. Work in 2x2 ribbing for 12 rounds or desired length. Cut CC. Next, join MC and knit 2 rounds then, cut off MC leaving about 3yards of tail.

Supplies for Class:

• Sport-weight/DK weight yarn in a main color (MC) plus at least 3 contrasting colors (CC): Main color: 50g; Contrast Colors: 10g minis ideal
• Gauge-size needle(s) of your preferred type for working small circumferences (I used 80cm (32”) circular needles)
• Stitch marker
• Stitch holder or scrap yarn
• Tapestry needle
• Scissors
• Ruler or sticky note for marking place on chart
