The Mine slippers pattern presents the perfect opportunity to develop some new skills and finish a useful, well-loved project in no time! Using bulky weight yarn, learn cabling, picking up stitches and grafting.
The Mine slipper pattern by Faye Kennington is included, and is graded to fit the whole family.
Technique Requirements: knit/purl, cast on/bind off, working in the round, have knit a few accessories, basic finishing techniques
Swatch to ensure gauge. Cast on and work first 6 rounds (Garter stitch in the round). Pattern is included in handout.
1 to 2 skeins bulky-weight yarn, or yarns held together (such as 2 strands aran) to meet gauge with a fairly firm fabric. My favorite yarn for this project is Polka Dot Sheep Big Mountain, 80% superwash merino/20% nylon; 76y/69m; 3.5 oz/ 100g.
Set of US 10 (6mm) double-pointed needles or size necessary to obtain gauge; 1 stitch marker; cable needle; tapestry needle.
