We use increases and decreases to obtain the required shape of a garment. These decreases and increases can be either hidden in the seam, or not. In the latter case, the exposed line of increases and decreases becomes a decorative feature. Cabled Decreases (also called Fully Fashioned Decreases) are widely used in machine knitting, both in factory production and in domestic knitting machines. But they can be easily made in hand knitting too.
In this Cabled Decreases workshop, we will
• Learn their structure
• Study different varieties
• Work them flat and in the round
• Learn the best methods of knitting them
• Examine their possible applications.
The necessary handout with videos will be provided.
