Class Details:

Ladder-back jacquard is a technique commonly used in machine knitting, which can also be adapted for hand knitting. It is a way to avoid the longer threads (floats) not worked on the wrong side of the work. These threads (floats) are connected with vertical columns of dots, or ladders, which create a kind of web that floats behind the work. A single “ladder” can be used to create a bridge between meshes in stranded colorwork, or many ladders can be used to effectively work the intarsia in the round.

Technique Requirements: knit/purl, cast on/bind off, working in the round, easy colorwork

Homework:

Cast on 80 sts and join for circular knitting. Work 6 rounds in k2, p2 ribbing. Work 6 rounds in Stockinette Stitch. Don't cut the yarn.

Supplies to Bring:

Two balls of yarn (one light and one dark) and needles in size appropriate for your yarn (attached to the homework sample).
