Class Details:

Curious about brioche but not quite ready to dive in? Meet fisherman’s rib—a beautifully squishy, reversible fabric that looks like brioche but is worked with simple knits and purls.

In this class, you’ll learn how fisherman’s rib relates to brioche, how the stitches are formed, and when you might choose one technique over the other. We’ll cover working one-color fisherman’s rib flat, reading your fabric, fixing common mistakes, and tips for achieving great tension and drape. We will be knitting a large swatch in class that you can take home to continue working on. This class is perfect for knitters who want the look and feel of brioche without the complexity—or as a stepping stone toward full brioche confidence.

Technique Requirements: knit/purl, cast on/bind off

Homework:
None
Supplies to Bring:
DK-weight yarn in a light color, leftovers in your preferred weight for striping in different colors, US 5 / 3.75 mm needles, circular or straight is fine.
