Class Details:

In this new workshop, Erin Lee Gafill and Melanie Falick will teach a super-easy, joyful method for hand-stitching an improvisational-style quilt using scrap fabric and simple straight stitches. No skills, no measuring, no previous experience required!

All materials and tools will be provided, but if you like, you can bring a small quantity of light- to medium-weight cotton cloth (maybe leftover from other sewing projects or cut from old clothing or homewares) to share with the group and/or incorporate into the small quilt you will start (and possibly finish) during class.

If you’re curious about slow-stitching and/or upcycling, have an ever-growing collection of mismatched textiles, enjoy stitching in community, or any of the above, this workshop is for you!

Homework:

None

Supplies to Bring:

Optional: small quantity of light- to medium-weight new or repurposed cotton cloth to incorporate into your quilt and/or share. At the end of class, you will be responsible for taking home any of your unused fabric.

Materials Fee (to Be Paid Directly to the Teacher):
$25
