Class Details:

This is a class for the distracted knitter who wants ideas for knitting accessories beyond garter and stockinette. We’ll talk about what makes stitch patterns easy or difficult, and especially how to make patterns that look difficult but are in fact easy to work. This includes not only the stitch pattern, but also how to use different kinds of yarns to add complexity to a simple stitch pattern. You will swatch a few easy patterns that you can make into scarves, shawls, or blankets.

Technique Requirements: knit/purl, cast on/bind off, increase/decrease, chart reading, have knit a few accessories, basic finishing techniques

Homework:

None

Supplies to Bring:

Bring 2 balls of plain yarn and appropriate needles. Your needles should be circulars, as you may do some 1-row stripes, which require sliding the stitches back and forth on the needles.
