Join us for an updated version of this popular knitting class—now with a fresh focus on beading, fading, and enhanced finishing techniques. This revamped session builds on the innovative methods featured in my dragon design collections: I Am Dragon Remix , I Am Dragon II Remix, I Am Dragon III Remix, and others.

We’ll begin by diving into the intricate world of dragon-inspired knits, working a 15-scale dragon swatch. I’ll guide you step by step through creating crisp 3D scales, applying beads for extra texture and impact, and using the fading technique designed specifically for dimensional dragon motifs.

In the second half of the class, we’ll shift to finishing techniques—from understanding the anatomy of 3-layer tassels to a unique blocking method that brings structure and polish to your final piece. You’ll also see a variety of inspiring samples in a range of fibers and color palettes—designed to ignite your creativity and help you develop your own one-of-a-kind, dragon-inspired knitwear.

Technique Requirements: knit/purl, cast on/bind off, increase/decrease

Place 45 beads onto the yarn.

• YARN: Two 20g skeins of fingering weight Merino wool, or wool blend in light and medium colors (I do not recommend cotton, silk, alpaca, or cashmere. Yarn should be stretchy).
• NEEDLES: US 2/2.75mm & US 0/2.00mm 24”/61cm, or longer.
• 45 Miyuki glass seed beads size 6/0, beading needle, tapestry needle, 4 stitch markers.
• Please bring a printed copy of the 3D Dragon Scales 2.0 Swatch pattern, or have it ready on an electronic device for day of the class.kers
