Class Details:

In this class, Elizabeth Williamson will take you through the basic stitches and techniques of Shetland lace knitting. At the end of the class, you will have a swatch of a Shetland lace pattern on a garter base.

The patterns of Shetland Lace reflect everyday life and especially the sea, which is so important to the islands. This pattern are a great way to be introduced to Shetland lace and Elizabeth will discuss how patterns they can be used in different arrangements to form the centre of haps, shawls and scarfs.

This workshop is suitable for all skill levels but is aimed at beginners.
