Class Details:
Slow stiching Kawandi-style is a meditative, intuitive hand-stitching tradition practiced by the Siddi women of Western India and one of the most joyful ways to make a quilt, turning fabric scraps into a richly layered textile. No pattern, no template, no measuring, no stress! Using a distinctive "outside in" construction method and simple running stitches, you'll be on your way in to time. This technique is really accessible for beginners and a welcome antidote to perfectionism, inviting play, experimentation, and presence into your stitching practice. Gather some of your own fabric scraps to truly personalize your project. A $25 materials fee paid to the instructors covers all necessary materials.
Homework:
None
Supplies to Bring:
A handful of your own personal fabric scraps (think discarded clothing, project remnants).
