Cable knitting is so much more than simple “crosses.” This workshop moves beyond basic techniques to help you understand the flow, logic, and heritage of these iconic textures. We will discover the deep-rooted history and modern application of cable knitting in the world of design.
We will also dive into the mechanics of the stitch, giving you the confidence to navigate complex charts and understand how cables interact with different sweater structures.
In this workshop, we will explore:
• Context and history of cable patterns and how they’ve evolved.
• Insights on integrating cables into various project types and understanding their movement across the fabric.
• Hands-On Practice: We will work through a beautifully curated “Mixed Cable Sample”, to feel the rhythm of different twists and turns.
• Master different styles of working cables without a cable needle to increase knitting speed and fluidity.
