Class Details:

Spread your knitting wings with Noctua, a breathtaking wingspan shawl worked in luminous hand-dyed yarn.

Inspired by the ethereal beauty of night moths, this semi-circular shawl is worked in dramatic radiating wedges with German short rows that create a mesmerizing stained-glass effect.

Never tried techniques like this before? No problem. In this hands-on session we'll cover every technique in the pattern. Come learn, knit, and let's take flight together.

Homework:

With DK- or worsted-weight scrap yarn and appropriate-size needles, cast on 40 stitches. Work 6 rows of garter stitch. Slip onto a holder and bring to class.

Supplies to Bring:

Optional kit (go here for information) or 4 colors of sportweight yarn, 350 yd in each of 3 colors and 700 yd in a main color; 4 colors of scrap yarn (all DK or worsted weight) and appropriate-size circular knitting needle; circular knitting needle, US size 6 (4 mm), sticky notes, scissors.

Reminder: Please print any handout(s) prior to class and bring it with you.
