Class Details:

An introduction to knitting geometrically. Geometric knitting exploits underutilized combinations of techniques that produce colorful, graphic designs without traditional colorwork. One strand of yarn is used at a time and pattern stitches are easy to master and memorize. While making the Portals pillow cover, we'll explore the geometry of knitting and learn these techniques for garter stitch knitting: 3-needle BO for shaping, purling backwards, weaving in ends invisibly, mattress stitch for garter stitch. The class includes two options for working the shapes: flat or in-the-round. In class we will be working them flat, and demonstrating the circular technique, including how to make jogless stripes in garter stitch.
