Duplicate stitch is an ESSENTIAL skill for EVERY knitter; it isn’t just for decoration!

This class is packed full of both hands-on learning and demonstrations, including how to fix mistakes and work off a chart! Learn how to use this versatile technique to weave in your tails invisibly and securely.

On our practice swatch, we will learn how to duplicate stitch both horizontally and vertically on the right side of the work, and horizontally on the wrong side (weaving in tails).

This is the ultimate technique-driven class that will change how you finish and personalize your knitting!

With a cream or very light-colored worsted-weight yarn and US size 7 or 8 needles, cast on 29 stitches.
Knit 3 rows.
Continue in stockinette stitch, while keeping the first and last two stitches in garter. Continue until piece measures 4 inches.
Knit three rows and bind off all stitches.

Not mandatory but helpful: Make a second swatch exactly the same but with 20 stitches.

• US 7 or 8 knitting needles
• Cream or light-colored worsted-weight yarn for swatch(es)
• Darning needle (bent-tip darning needles are the easiest to use, but any will do)
• A couple colors of fingering and worsted-weight scrap yarn
