Class Details:

What happens when slip stitches meet lace? Or cables? Or texture? The results may surprise you. In this class, we will look at hybrid slip-stitch patterns that combine slip-stitch techniques like tuck and more with other knitting techniques to create unexpected textures, stitch combinations, and fabric effects.

Looking through examples, you’ll come to appreciate how a simple slip stitch can transform the way lace, cables, texture, and other techniques look and behave. Come curious, experiment with familiar techniques in new ways, and discover just how much more a slip stitch can do.

Homework:

With A (lighter color), CO 30 sts.
Row 1 (WS): Sl1, purl to last st, k1.
Row 2: Sl1, knit to end.
Row 3: As Row 1.
Leave stitches on needle. We will continue in class. We will use two contrasting colors for this swatch.

Supplies to Bring:

Sport- or fingering-weight light solid-colored yarn. Needles: US 3-4, stitch markers, pencil and paper for notes.

Reminder: Please print any handout(s) prior to class and bring it with you.
