What would your knitting life be like if you never had to get gauge again? What if you knew how to knit just about any pattern in just about any yarn?
In this class we'll unravel the secrets behind knitting to your gauge, not that of the designer. Working through a pattern of your choice, you'll learn how to evaluate the differences between the given gauge and your own and make the changes necessary to knit the project in the way that works for you. You'll learn how to adjust for differences in both stitch and row gauge, how to be a "pattern detective" when schematics are not provided, and how to work the simple math that frees you from gauge tyranny.
Technique Requirements: knit/purl, cast on/bind off, increase/decrease, working in the round, have knit a whole garment
Your gauge swatch, a copy of the pattern that you can reference and mark up, pencil, calculator (the one on your phone is fine).
Reminder: Please print any handout(s) prior to class and bring it with you.
